The Space

Nestled in the heart of Dripping Springs, the recently rejuvenated venue offers a perfect blend of sophisticated chic and timeless country charm. Allegro boasts a stunning hall, picturesque chapel, romantic garden lawn, lovely pavilion, and on-site cottages. The combo of spaces allow couples to plan the perfect wedding from ceremony to reception to lodging, and brunch the day after. From intimate gatherings, to events of up to 300 people, the possibilities are endless.
We sat down with Venue Manager Amber McDaniel to learn a little more about Allegro.
Amanda: Can you tell me about the history of Allegro and how it became a wedding venue?
Amber: Our owner, Joe Driscolll, purchased the property and named it after his daughter. Originally, the 25-year old property was named Heritage House and the original property owners built the wedding venue on their homestead for their children to get married there. They named the chapel Grace Chapel after their daughter who was the first to get married there. While the venue started as a small place for their kids to get married, wedding guests began to ask if they could host their weddings there as well! So then it eventually grew into a wedding venue. And when the couple decided that they were ready to retire, they sold it to our owner who wanted to continue its tradition.
Allegro boasts a gorgeous on-site chapel as one of the many locations where couples can choose to say their vows.

Amanda: I’d love to learn more about your recent renovations.
Amber: Of course! We’ve updated the space to be very clean and modern. We’ve incorporated lots of fresh white and walls and walls of windows. The goal is a perfect blank canvas to turn your wedding into what it wants to be. We now have huge indoor-outdoor bar perfect for guests to enjoy the night. We’ve added a facelift to the cottages, and Baker Hall. We’ve put so much work into this renovation, and I can’t wait to see events happen here.

Amanda: On top of the renovations, I know Allegro offers some pretty unique perks with your package. Would you be able to elaborate on your offerings?
Amber: Something else that we offer is we have an in house decor package that’s included with all of our wedding packages. So we include all of the things that you don’t have to go and DIY, or purchase and sell, or rent and return. So we include the cylinder vases, the photo candleholders, the table numbers, things that you’re going to use once and then be done with. So we include all those and we try to keep them timeless that will go with any of the decor.
Amanda: You mentioned a new bar – Do you have advice you offer to couples when they ask about selecting the right bar options for their wedding?
Amber: It depends on budget. I ask them what their drinks of choice are, what they like to drink and then I typically will ask what their family likes to drink. And if somebody likes something different across the board, I always recommend the full bar versus a beer and wine package because if you offer only beer and wine, people tend to go drink in the parking lot. So for safety reasons, we recommend a full bar. But also specialty cocktails have been the hot trend. If the couple has a dog, a lot of times they like to incorporate that. So we will recommend a signature cocktail. Or if they have a drink of choice. One couple in particular, their first date was at a bar and they fell in love over a particular cocktail. So we recommended a signature drink based on that cocktail. We even have a wedding coming up this summer that’s doing a popsicle cocktail bar!
Amanda: Bringing it back to the venue, can you think of any charming or quirky features about Allegro that couples love that might not be obvious at first glance?
Amber: We have the most incredible sunsets out there, we really do. And every single photographer that comes out there that hasn’t shot out there before, whenever the sun hits and starts setting in the back, they all just go crazy over a romantic sunsets. I also want to mention our darling chapel, and unique on-site lodging. Couples love all of it!

Amanda: Are you seeing any fun trends popping up for 2024 and 2025 weddings?
Amber: Pearls and bows, okay, I am here for it. I am here for the pearls and am a girly girl at heart. And I am seeing that trend all over. I think the more classic style is coming back a little bit. At the same time, I also see that some of the traditional stuff is kind of going out the window like the bouquet toss and the garter toss. The long speeches, the traditional cake cuttings, people are forgoing them all together. And I I love it because it makes for a more relaxed day. For the bride and groom, when they’re not so scheduled, they actually get to enjoy cocktail hour. We’re seeing a lot more couples getting their photos done ahead of time. Instead of going the traditional way where they see each other at the altar, they take all their photos ahead of time, and join the festivities right after the ceremony!
Amanda: Okay, last question for you. From your perspective, what are the benefits of partnering with a bar catering company, and how does that contribute to positive wedding experiences?
Amber: No brainer, it’s service, it’s a level of service. So you can go to Google and read our reviews – we have amazing reviews about the experience. We pride ourselves on this amazing experience and amazing customer service, and amazing partnership, and the only way that we can provide that is with really great partners. And that is why we chose to partner with Peak Beverage. Because we know in every event, there’s going to be consistency. And we are confident in the level of service that they are going to receive and at a really great value. The product guarantee and price guarantee are both huge.
Amber: We recently implemented a rule of no BYOB and when I explain it, it’s that you don’t have to worry about going out trying to guess what your people are going to drink. And you know, you’ve got to worry about liquor stores closing. You can’t send somebody out to get more of something if you don’t have enough or you bought too much and then you have a surplus. Like myself, for example, I did a BYOB bear bar. When I got married, we ran out of a bunch of product. And then we had tons of extra items like craft beer. We had tons of whiskey and wine drinkers. And we ran out of both. Yep. So it just makes for a bumpy evening. And then at the end of the night, when you’re loading up all your stuff to take it home, and you’ve got a huge cooler worth of Bud Light. And you’re trying to give it away. I love with Peak that it’s smooth because you have professionals that work the same events week after week.
Amanda: Ok so I do have a final question before we head off. I know I said the last was the last, but to end it on an extra fun note, if you could host any dream wedding at your venue, who would you pick?
Amber: Taylor Swift. I’m a Swiftie, and I think her wedding would be a blast!
